Korea-Japan Joint Government Scholarship Program for Undergraduate Students in Science and Engineering Departments

This program is to train Korean-Japanese government scholarship recipients who will be sent to study science and engineering at a Japanese university. Students begin the six-month program each year in March at Kyung Hee, and take courses in Japanese, mathematics, physics, chemistry, English, and other electives. Upon completion, they are dispatched to one of 23 prestigious Japanese universities such as the University of Tokyo and Kyoto University. At the Institute of International Education, students not only take formal courses but also visit the Japanese culture center, meet Japanese students, and live together for a set period of time to help adjust to life in Japan. Courses in Korean culture are also provided to deepen understanding of their own culture and mother country.
